U R Priceless, My Day and a Giveaway!

Welcome to Day One of the U R Priceless Blog Hop! Thanks to our hostesses, Mdm. Samm of Sew We Quilt! and Katherine, of Sew Me Something Good! I think you'll be amazed at all the wonderful things you can do with a basic little coin purse frame! (The list of today's fellow bloggers follows this post, but you can find a complete list for the entire hop on Katherine's blog.)

In the above photo, you see a small coin purse made with two coordinating fabrics (actually three, if you count the lining). The one on the right was made with a black and white print and colored in with crayons! (I heat set them after coloring.) Yes, I got a little carried away with the trim, but I was having fun!!! The little yellow purse has a pieced front.

These were made from felt and embellished with a felt flower and a silk flower.  Although these frames have different shapes, its an easy thing to trace off the top of the frame and use that to change your pattern. I did find the rounded frames a little more difficult to get centered at the top of the purse.
I used some recycled denim and a scrap of bandana fabric for the little purse on the left. The one on the right is made up in nostalgic reproduction fabric. I added a little pocket on the outside. (Milk money?) The trim inside was a fun touch that hides any stitches that might have gotten out of hand. :) And speaking of "getting out of hand", how about a little purse for "hand outs"?

No? Well, how about something for the upcoming holidays? Who would love a stocking purse full of money, or chocolate, or anything else you can think of? (I thought I was being so original, and then I saw one made out of a baby sock! Cute!)

Thank you for stopping by on my day! My giveaway is a PDF copy of any one pattern in my Craftsy shop - your choice. Just make a comment for one chance and follow (or tell me you already follow) on Google Friend Connect (on my sidebar) for a second chance. (Two chances, two comments.) (I'm still trying to reach 600! Thank you for helping me out!!)
