You can see that the house is built on a hill. It is at the top of a ridge and has beautiful views of the Texas Hill Country. It is winter here and the hill country gets colder weather than Pleasanton does, so I'll have to wait a few weeks until things start blooming and budding to know what is here. The trees in front of the house are Spanish Oaks. The house is built of the white limestone that is so prevalent in this area.
The previous owners put a lot of thought and detail into the building of the house. It's a great house! but we plan on doing some updating since the house is 18 years old.
Do you see this door on the lower level? This leads to my new sewing room! (I also have stairs inside that lead down to it.) It will not be first on the list for remodeling, but I will be able to use it anyway!
As we drove up to the house, some of the deer in the area were there to welcome us! It will be a challenge to keep them from eating my flowers and fruit, but we will enjoy seeing them!
I will keep you updated on our progress on the house.
Be sure to join me on February 5 for my day in the Don't Let the Door Stop You Blog Hop. It is running in conjunction with the She Who Sews Blog Hop. You can click on the button for either on the side bar to be taken to the list of hoppers. I'll see you then!
Ohhhhhhhh Linda!!! This home is beautiful...so happy for you. And the deer are a plus.

ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful and I am sure you can hardly wait to get settled in it.
ReplyDeleteFabulous house!!! Especially with a sewing room with outdoor access and DEER!!! Yes, deer will eat everything in your yard but they are so pretty!! I live with deer as well (on a farm in the middle of nowhere) and love seeing them in my yard, in the fields and hills around the farm. I have a farm dog so they generally leave my garden alone, so I can't give you any tips (except for high fences) to controlling them. Enjoy you new home and I look forward to some inside pictures as you get settled!!! Congratulations :)
ReplyDeleteOutstanding! - Love all of those beautifully large windows. You got a great deal there. Good luck!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations! What a beautiful home. How fun to have a door in your sewing room and be able to have the fresh air and go out if you wish to sit on the patio to sew or read or think... My sewing room isn't finished either, but I kind of like it the way it is and sew in there or whatever else strikes my fancy. I have a nice chair and lamp for reading and windows all around. PS We saw a dozen long horn sheep today while driving in Garden of the Gods while it snowed. Gorgeous to be out with the animals and the snow against the red rocks!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on moving into your new home! I love the deer in the yard.
