My flags today are inspired by what I am seeing this week outside my window!
Spring is here and this beautiful field of bluebonnets is right across the road from where we are staying! In my parent's yard, you will find a riot of color!
The bluebonnet flag is hand painted on canvas and then quilted. The last two flags are each embellished with fabric applique and pen and ink drawings on canvas, then quilted. Of course, I added ribbons to wave in the wind!
Thank you for stopping by to see what I had today! Be sure you the other blogs on the hop today and see what kind of flags they are waving! Thank you, Mdm. Samm and Thearica for hosting us this time around! Here is the rest of the schedule for today:

ReplyDeleteWow Linda! I love your flags!!! That Fiesta one is my favorite, but all are wonderful!!!
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOSH!!! A girl after my own heart. I'm not at home in Texas right now and hubby sent me a picture of the bluebonnets blooming, telling me I was missing out on them. They are my favorite thing this time of year! Pictures are wonderful and amazing but until you see those fields of bluebonnets in person it just breathtaking! Everyone should experience it at least once. Great flags, all of them, depicting our great state! And thanks for the bluebonnet pictures.
ReplyDeleteThe flags and the flowers are all gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it great to finally see Spring? All the flowers blooming and everything turning green. It is like everything is coming to life again. Your flags sure do compliment Spring. They are beautiful. I like the ribbons you chose for the bottom. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely trio of flags. Am not sure that I could choose a favorite -- they are all awesome and make me jealous of your blue skies and flowers. I'm a couple of states north of you, and our spring has definitely not arrived. One day it hit 80s, and now we are back to gray and cold. Enjoy your flags. They brightened my day.
ReplyDeleteThey are all gorgeous! The bluebonnet one is my favourite though.
ReplyDeleteOMG Linda...you never disappoint...luv all 3 of your flags....and the flowers are a delight to see. I'm sure it is going to be June before we see any flowers...there aren't even buds on the trees. Great job!! Happy stitching, Pauline

ReplyDeleteOh my! All your flags are really awesome! You are one very talented creator!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous field to look at throughout the day! Our flowers are working on emerging, but it will probably be another 2 weeks before we have what you have. Your flags are so cheerful! I like the quilting you did on the house one. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDelete~Brandy
You are super clever, your flags are just stunning and I love those ribbons at the bottom.
ReplyDeleteWow, three wonderfully creative flags. Each is adorable in it's own right though the house one was my favorite. The flowery backdrop to your flags couldn't be better and it makes me more hopeful that Spring may be working it's way north. :)
ReplyDeleteI love, love the flags! I live on the TX border in LA, and I didn't realize the Bluebonnets were already blooming. I love seeing them anywhere I go over in TX.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I've been trying to post from my laptop, and it just wouldn't let me. Glad I have one computer that works right.
Are those beads on the bottom of the bluebonnet flag? Sew cute! Thanks for all the lovely Texas wildflower pictures. No flowers here. I did find a tiny bit of green hiding in the flowerbeds today. Such cute flags, but, you know which one I like best, of course, BLUEBONNETS!!!
ReplyDeleteThe colors are glorious. You have captured the essence of their beauty in your flags. They are beautiful. I read down through some of your other posts and it appears you have had some bumps in the road (no pun intended). Some of the flora around your house is going to be fabulous. Everyone is anticipating spring bursting through in all its glory. Even those of us who had mild winters in comparison to many are ready for spring, spring, spring. However, I'm never ready for hot, hot, hot days of summer. I guess I wasn't thinking about that when I accepted a transfer to OK 40 years ago. I was young and only worrying about making a living at that point. Thanks for sharing your wonderful creations and always being a great inspiration.
ReplyDeleteYour talent is stunning...and so are those flags.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, you are so lucky, we are still knee-deep in snow. I'm just stopping by to say how delightful your blog is. Thanks so much for sharing. I have recently found your blog and am now following you, and will visit often. Please stop by my blog and perhaps you would like to follow me also. Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Chris
