We have recently returned from spending a little over a week driving from the northern valley in California to our home in south Texas. We toured four national parks along with a few other tourist stops along the way. Along with us were my two grandchildren, aged 5 and 10. First stop was Zion National Park in Utah. We hiked a total of 4 miles (down to the canyon floor and back).
He's an explorer! |
The shuttle bus was the best place my grandson found to nap! He was "tuckered out"!
The next day we drove to Bryce Canyon National Park, where we felt like we had entered another world!
This is a very tired and sick Nana (I had a summer cold and felt pretty lousy. I normally look about 30 years younger and 50 lbs. slimmer! - that's my story and I'm sticking to it!) |
We made a couple of stops before the next photos, but here we are at the Grand Canyon National Park. This first day here, the canyon was clouded by a haze from the California wildfires!
I'll be posting some sewing goodies soon. See my entry , along with my granddaughter's,in my last post for the Stamp On It blog hop going on now. The link to the blog headquarters is on my sidebar!
My new computer has arrived and now I have to learn how to use it! It's a touch screen and does not work the way my old computer did. UGH! I know I'll enjoy it when I learn, but I still have the grandkids with me and finding time to just sit at the computer is not on the radar for a little while now. The 5 year old is really put out with me for spending time doing this instead of entertaining him this morning!
So until next time....
Bee Blessed!
Looks like a fun trip with lots of cherished memories!
ReplyDeleteI just got a new laptop and I'm sloooooowly learning Windows 8. Once I get the hang of it, I think I'll love the new system. Good luck with yours!
What a lovely trip to share with your grands.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful places to visit and sharing with your grandkids, makes it even more special.

ReplyDeleteLooks like a lovely holiday with your grandchildren. Hope you're feeling better soon Linda.
ReplyDeleteYoung children, four national parks, lots of driving and not feeling well is exhausting at best. I hope you take time to recharge your batteries and feel better. Good luck with the Windows computer...my husband has returned two of them he hates Windows so much. He actually paid extra to get the old version pre-Windows. Enjoy Summer with the Grands...
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures - great fun! Bryce and Zion are awesome. I haven't been to the Grand Canyon yet. Glad you had so much fun with the grandies!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your vacation pictures, Linda. Thanks for sharing. We haven't been brave enough to take along any grandies on our trips yet, but have been talking about it. I think some of them are getting old enough...maybe next summer!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking you guys have the haze too! We're having a temporary respite from ours due to wind direction. We got our kids a touchscreen computer too. It's not the touchscreen that sucks. It's the windows!
ReplyDeleteI to enjoyed your vacation pictures. I love that those of us in the quilting world have gotten to know one another and we like to share little glimpses into our lives. What a great way to see our wonderful country than with your grandchildren. We are planning to take our 2 oldest on a trip out west next summer. I want to visit Yellowstone, Mt. Rushmore, Glacier National Park, etc... Thanks for sharing. I too fought a summer cold...the first one in 4 yrs! Hope your rested and feel better.
