A Sehpherd of a Different Color

I have been busy this week making another Good Shepherd quilt. This one is for a silent auction to benefit a group of children's homes called Arms of Hope. I used the new Moda wildflower fabric that is designed for the big Texas Shop Hop! If I am not mistaken, it is only available in the shops that are participating in the shop hop. It depicts Texas wildflowers and birds.  Below is the original. (I think I like the original best, but sometimes you have to just try things to know. Besides, the new one has the special fabric in it, so it might appeal to people who appreciate "all things Texan". ( I do think it looks better "in person" though.

  1. Both quilts are gorgeous. Love the face of the lamb. It really captured how safe it is on the Shepherd's shoulders.

  3. Wonderful choices of fabric! I'm sure the auction will go wonderfully as this is a perfect choice for the name of the organization.

  7. The vined leaves around the picture with the Bible verse is beautiful. The 'Texan' Shepherd appeals to me more...and I'm a Northern girl! Great work on both!

  9. I want everyone to know that the quilt is straight although the photo isn't! I was in such a hurry taking a picture before delivering it, I didn't really notice how crooked it was in the picture. I had it hanging between two supports!

  10. Very beautiful! I still haven't started mine but I hope to start on it soon. My mom fell in love with it when I showed her the pattern!
